Carmel Pumpkin Monkey Bread Recipe!!

Pumpkin Monkey Bread

This is a GREAT recipe to make on holiday mornings for brunch!!!
I found this recipe on Pillsbury.com and thought it sounds so EASY to make and would be perfect for Thanksgiving morning and Christmas morning!

 Ingredients

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 tablespoons pumpkin pie spice

4 cans Pillsbury® Grands!® Flaky Layers refrigerated biscuits

1 cup packed brown sugar

3/4 cup butter

1/4 cup canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)

Instructions

Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 6-cup (9-inch) fluted tube cake pan or angel food (tube) cake pan with cooking spray.

In large food-storage plastic bag, mix granulated sugar and pumpkin pie spice. Separate each can of dough into 8 biscuits; cut each biscuit into quarters. Place 6 to 8 biscuit pieces in sugar-spice mixture; shake well. Continue to add more biscuit pieces to sugar-spice mixture until all are completely coated. Place biscuit pieces in pan.

In 1-quart saucepan, melt butter, brown sugar and pumpkin over medium heat. When mixture begins to boil, cook and stir 1 minute. Pour over biscuits in pan.

Bake 35 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Place plate upside down over pan; turn plate and pan over. Remove pan. Serve warm.

Flavor boost—For extra pumpkin flavor, double the butter and brown sugar. Add an additional 1/2 cup of pumpkin and save 1 cup of the pumpkin-caramel mixture to drizzle over your warm bread as it comes out of the oven!

Serving Suggestions—This recipe tastes great with a mug of hot apple cider!

Let me know what you think of this, if you make it!!

GOBBLE GOBBLE - Thanksgiving Sweet Treat!!

No Thanksgiving feast would be complete without a turkey…
Or maybe even a whole gobbling rafter of them!

Two-bite Turkeys
Two-bite brownies
( You can either buy these or make them with a mini cupcake pan )

Chocolate frosting

Chocolate jimmies-sprinkles

Shortbread cookies (Murray)

1/3c. chocolate chips
M&M Mini’s
Malted milk chocolate balls (bulk candy)

Edible eyes (Michael’s)

Yellow candy-coated sunflower seeds

Strawberry fruit by the foot

Miniature cupcake liners

Gallon & quart-size zipper bags

Melt chocolate chips and transfer to a quart-size zipper bag. Seal and snip a tiny amount from one corner with clean kitchen shears.

To create turkey tail fans, squeeze five small dots of melted chocolate onto top half of shortbread cookies and quickly apply M&M’s in colors of your choice.

For faces, use melted chocolate to adhere two edible eyeballs, one yellow sunflower seed beak, and a wattle cut from a narrow strip of red fruit roll, to each malted milk chocolate ball.

Set all body parts aside, allowing “chocolate glue” to dry completely before assembling turkeys.
Spoon frosting into a gallon-size zipper bag, seal, and remove one corner with shears. Pipe mounds of frosting onto two-bite brownies.

Holding brownies securely by their bottoms, gently roll wet frosting in a shallow bowl filled with chocolate jimmies for a feathered look.

Invert brownies and insert into cupcake papers. Decorate each iced brownie with one colorful turkey tail, followed by a turkey head.

Arrange atop your Thanksgiving dessert buffet and enjoy!

I love this recipe.. I won't be making it because I am not hosting a Thanksgiving dinner but its not too late to get the stuff and make these if you want to get them done by Thursday!!

[TESTING ] Rapberry Fudge Mocha Mousse Trifle Recipe

Hello !!! Hello!!!

I found this recipe in the paper

and decided to test it out.

I will first go through it step by step and then I will give you my final thoughts on it.

Here is basically the ingredients.

Trifle dish, angle food cake, jar of Smuckers Raspberry Preserves, Smuckers Hot Fudge, A big thing of cool whip, 1/2 cup of coffee, and a package of fresh raspberries.

It calls for 2 regular containers of cool whip or 1 large one.

Here are the Preserves and Hot Fudge

Raspberries - I rinsed them in the package

1/2 cup of strong coffee

And a pre made Angle Food Cake

First off,

cut the angle food cake in about 1 inch cubes. Remember to use a serrated knife

and sit aside.

Next up..

measure out 3/4 of the raspberry preserves

and then take out a few of the raspberries

and set aside.

With the remainder berries

add them to the

preserves.

mix

and set aside.

Then take a the hot fudge

and add a couple table spoons to a baggie

push it down to the corner and

set aside

In a large bowl

take add the

hot fudge then

add the coffee

and then start

mixing until

smooth. Then take

half the cool whip and

fold in.

until mixed.

At this point,

add 1/2 the angle food cake to the trifle dish

and then add 1/2 of the chocolate mouse.

Then add

raspberry mixture on top of the moose

and carefully spread around.

add the remaining angle food cake

( top view ) and then

add the rest of the mouse.

Then take the rest of the

whipped cream and add it to the top.

Then take the remainder of the preserves and

for a few seconds to thin it out.

Same with the hot fudge.

Then cut the corner of the bag so you can drizzle it over the top.

Yea.. not too pretty..

I was hoping it would at least taste good.

Well.. I served it up to my friends and we all pretty much had the same thoughts on it..

NEEDS MORE RASPBERRY TASTE

Besides that it was good. I think 2 jars would have been better and I wouldn't drizzle anything over it. The Raspberries on top would be just fine. I wanted to follow the recipe but everyone who had it last night, thought it needed a little tweaking!

Let me know if you saw this recipe and intend on trying it!

HUSBY'S White Chili Recipe

Scott decided that yesterday he was going to make a crock pot full of white chili to take into work. I don't like white chili but since husby was in the kitchen I decided to photograph him and share his recipe!

Enjoy!

Ohh.. this isn't the normal way I post recipes but husby does not plan out cooking.. So its kinda fly by the seat of his pants!

Hopefully you can figure this out!!

He took a small package of Great Northern Beans and

soaked them for a couple of hours

Then he drained and rinsed and

drained them..

Into the

crock pot they went!

He added a few cups of

water and

put the lid on and let them start cooking on high.

Next up he

diced up some chicken tenderloins ( 1/2 package )

into very small cubes.

Then put them on the stove

to brown up.

While that was happening

he took some green chili's

and started cutting them up

into a tiny dice.

He also took a 1/2 of a large onion

and diced it up too.

he added the chicken, onion, and chili's to the crock pot

added some more water and stirred.

Then he took a palm full  ( about 3 tablespoons ) of

chili powder and

added it.. Along with about the same amount of garlic powder.

He cooked for hours on end. I think about 5 hours.

. and here how he serves it up.

He put a dollop of sour cream int he middle, more jalapenos and olives around it and chips along the rim of the bowl.

I was rather impressed how it looked.

You know, we all eat with our eyes first and I think it looks great!

Good job baby!

The reason I don't eat this is.. I don't eat beans and I don't eat really spicy food. I just can't do it but both Michael and Courtney tasted it and said it was really good!

Hope the guys like it for lunch tomorrow!!

xoxo
