FCC Denies Gallaudet's Motion to Extend Stay of Video Relay Service (VRS) Rule

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has denied a motion by Gallaudet University to extend the deadline of the Structure and Practices of the VRS Program, CG Docket No. 10-51. The ruling calls for eligible VRS providers (such as Gallaudet) to become certified by the FCC. It also says that a VRS provider cannot use a third party as part of its services unless that party is also an eligible provider. The ruling is effective on November 15, 2011. This information is also available in PDF format.
